I am an interdisciplinary artist from Staunton, Virginia, working in sculpture, painting, and video.
My work centers on navigating memory and the path toward recovering from trauma. Through the use of miniatures, masks, dolls, and distorted figures, my art explores how safety and identity are reconstructed through the process of overcoming despair and neglect. Informed by spiritual teachings and Jungian psychology, I pursue ideas and visions coming from beyond the conscious self, accessing the obscured parts of the psyche using methods such as automatic drawing and writing. My work is an effort to explore the unconscious and the shadow, through a surreal and dreamlike world, in order to develop a deeper understanding of the symbolism from within and a vision of the path towards the restoration that can come as we tend to the house of the mind.
I received a Bachelor’s in Studio Art from Mary Baldwin University in 2019.
